Preschool Group Today

Today Justus and I were blessed in having Michael and Carly over to play with. This is a little group of kids that come over and we have a little lesson and play together. Today we learned about the meaning of a candy cane. We read the book below, colored candy cane ornaments, and made some ornaments for the tree with our pictures in them. Then we had some lunch together and play time. It has been a busy day, however I believe we all had a good time.

The Meaning of the Candy Cane

What Letter does it look like? The letter J for Jesus who was born on Christmas Day.

Turn the candy cane over. What does it remind you of? The shepherd's staff. They where the first to find out about Jesus' birth.

The Stripes are to remind us about what the Prophet Isaiah said, "By his stripes we are healed."

The Red reminds us of his suffering and his blood.

The White reminds us that when we give our lives to Jesus, His blood washes away our sins, making us white and pure as snow.

This is the story of the Candy Cane.

Will you help me share it?
