Rejoicing In Heaven!!!!

Yesterday around 5:00 Luke was baptized.  I am so proud of his decision to walk with his God.  It won't be an easy walk, but it is one that is so well worth it.  Please pray for him.  And while your praying

REJOICE with the angles in heaven because of our new brother.

A Few of My Favorite Things.....

I thought I would share a few of my favorite Christmas ornaments.

This is the star that we have had on top of our tree since 1995.  Katie has been putting it on the tree since then and I have fond memories of David lifting Katie up on his shoulders to attach our star.

This is one of the first ornaments I got for us.  The picture is not very great, however it says "Our First Christmas Together"  1994.

Jeannie gave us this one when we put up our first tree.  Apparently this was an ornament that was brought back from Italy.

This one was given to me by a friend who knew I collected Precious Moments. It has a spot in the bottom to place a bulb so it lights up.  ( I still like Precious Moments, however with all my "blessings" (kids) this was not the time to continue collecting them.  So they are put up for another season of my life.)

Katie got me this icicle ornament one year for Christmas.  I like how it shines with the lights on the tree.

David was collecting Coca Cola ornaments at one point and this is one of my favorites.  We have a few on the tree this year, but most of them are fragile and pieces are falling off.  I haven't seen Coca Cola ornaments in a while so if you see any let me know.

When my parents came to visit one year for Thanksgiving my Mom got me this one.  It is an angle in the color of my birth stone.  Katie also has one, however I couldn't find hers on the tree.

David brought this wooden snoflake home one year from work.  Not sure the story of it, but it fast became one of my favorites.

Jeannie brought these back one year from Texas.  Mamaw Peggy got/made them.  They are made out of pasta with a thumb tack as the candle.  Super cute!!!

This is Matthias 1st Christmas orniment.  I picked it out because I LOVE snowmen.

Stars!!!  I like the way the light reflects of these.

Every year I set these aside and I place them on the tree in special spots so I can see them.  These are a few of my favorites.  What are some of your favorites?

Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked,
"Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews?
We saw his star in the east
and have come to worship him."

O Christmas Tree 2009

Saturday night we decorated our tree.  We put it in a different spot this year because we are still in the process of remodeling.  (Love grows best in small houses: sometimes easier than said.  However I wouldn't have it any other way)  And due to the fact that Orion is only 10 months David and I decided it would be best to not put the normal Lionel train around the tree.  So instead we have put up the little boy's Geotrax train.

Orion was sleeping when we decorated the tree. The normal process is I (Lela) hand each child an ornament and they put it on the tree.  This year Justus didn't want to wait for me to give him ornaments, he would just grab one for himself.  Matthias really liked putting the bells on the tree.  At one point I held up an ornament for him and he said "I don't want that one mommy!  I want that one." And proceeded to point to a bell.  Notice the cluster of bells in the picture, yep those are his bells.  He would get so upset when someone would try to move or touch his bells.

Katie being the only "girl" gets to put the star on each year.  This year she didn't even need a chair to reach.  She must be growing. :-)

That night at bed time David read to the kids out of the Bible about Jesus' birth and reminded us that it was the star that lead the magi to Jesus.  It was a perfect way to end the night.

The next morning I thought Orion would "attack" the tree, however he really didn't even notice it.  The only thing he would try to do is get on the train board.  He couldn't figure out why he couldn't sit up.  And had a disturbed look on his face when his head kept getting poked by the tree branches.  Thankfully he hasn't tried pulling the ornaments off yet.

Praying you all have a blessed CHRISTmas!

This is Matthias telling Justus "Don't touch my bells."

Baby Blues

I am still in shock that Orion still has his blue eyes.  You see Joe, Luke, Justus, and Matthias all have brown/green eyes.  So I am loving the fact Orion has blue eyes like me.  I have always wanted one of my boys to have blue eyes.  However I will not love him any less if his eyes do change.  So if before they change I will be taking a lot of pictures of his
Baby Blues...... and he is just to cute not to take pictures of.

still sucks his thumb... love that I don't have to purchase nuk's.

Luke was shining a flashlight on him to get his attention while I took some pictures.
That is why there is some big shadows in some to the pictures.
Love the look on his face in this picture. Super Cute!!!

(notice the paint scratched off my wall, this is due to kids banging a
chair into my wall to many times. Got to love repainting all the time.)
