Camp Yamhill....

Here We Come.....

Our 3 older children are at Camp Yamhill this week. The camp actually starts on Sunday, however David and I are blessed to know Rachel's parents who live near by and are willing to care for our children and drive them to camp. This is the second year James and Nancy have done this for us. I can not express how grateful I am for their friendship and their willingness to do this for us. I am comforted with the knowledge that they are well cared for and loved while with this wonderful family. So I thank you both again.

This camp revolves around our challenge course. Campers are divided into age groups from 10-13 and 14-18 years old and spend most of their time on the ropes course, together. Whether on the rock-climbing wall, zip line, high circuit, or one of 45 other elements, campers will learn experiential lessons about overcoming fears, working as a team and how these lessons apply to our spiritual lives. In the evenings both age groups reunite for activities including a moonlight hike, campfires and devotionals.

Katie and Luke went last year and had a great time. All 3 of them were excited to go and I already miss them so much. The house is to quiet without them. Please pray God will touch their hearts through their experience while at camp.

**On another note Rachel told me yesterday that Carly was upset because our 3 got to go see her grandparents and they didn't have tickets. Carly even wanted to go in Katie's carry on. We are blessed with such great friends and so blessed to have a wonderful family in Christ.

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY MATTHIAS

YES!!! TODAY IS MATTHIAS' BIRTHDAY. I NOW HAVE A 2 YEAR OLD LITTLE BOY. I COULDN'T IMAGINE MY LIFE WITHOUT THIS SERIOUS LITTLE BOY. BECAUSE OF BASEBALL GAMES WE HAVE ALREADY CELEBRATED HIS BIRTHDAY.
HE IS TALKING MORE EACH DAY. SOME OF THE WORDS I HEAR HIM SAYING ARE "I'M HUNGRY", "MARIE'S HOUSE", "I WANA GO HOME",
" WHERE'S JUSTUS", "OUTSIDE"
THESE ARE ONLY A FEW OF THE WORDS HE SAYS.
I HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING HIM TO SMILE SOMETIMES,
AND WHEN HE MEETS
SOMEONE NEW IT TAKES HIM A WHILE TO WARM UP TO THEM,
UNTIL HE DOES HE WILL TRY HIS HARDEST NOT TO SMILE AT THEM.
HE IS SUPER SERIOUS AND I CAN TELL HE IS A THINKER.
THANKFULLY HE HASN'T GOTTEN TO THE AGE WHERE
GIVING HIS MOM KISSES IS GROSS. HE STILL GIVES THOSE FREELY,
EVEN WITH FOOD STUCK ON HIS FACE.
MATTHIAS IS A DAILY BLESSING AND I LOOK FORWARD TO
MANY MORE YEARS WITH THIS
SERIOUS LITTLE BOY
WHO IS A GIFT FROM GOD....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

SWEET MATTHIAS!!!!

Orion's First Cereal

Orion had his 4 month Dr. appointment on Monday. He weighs 13 lbs. 12 oz. this means he is a little below weight for his age. He is 26 1/2 inches long and this is about the 75% for his age. And we found out he even has a big head 17". I found myself asking Dr. Fisher if he could have cereal early because he has started waking up about twice during the night. Some of you are probably saying that is great, however Orion was sleeping through the night up until about 3 weeks ago. About the time he popped two teeth out. I don't feel like I am not producing enough milk for him because he still tends to spit up quite a bit after he is done eating.
So she gave me the OK to feed him cereal a little early. Do you think this helped? NO!!! He still woke up about twice. Anyone have any advice on how to get him to sleep again??? I welcome all advice.

Even though this is my 6th child I also find myself wondering how and what am I doing. I also know some of you think I have it all together and wonder how I do it. The only answer I can give is GOD!!! Without him I know I wouldn't make it through each day. And I am so thankful for my wonderful husband who is so helpful and enjoys spending time with his children. So without God and David I would surely fail. I am a work in progress and continue to learn each day. So I covet you prayers daily as I raise my children and be the wife David needs. So very Thankful for the PATIENCE my family gives me each day.

"Bring The Rain" By Mercy Me

"Bring The Rain"
I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that
I've gone through
The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You
Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It's never really ever crossed my mind
To turn my back on you, oh Lord
My only shelter from the storm
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray
Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain
I am Yours regardless of
The dark clouds that may loom above
Because You are much greater than my pain
You who made a way for me
By suffering Your destiny
So tell me what's a little rain
So I pray
Holy, holy, holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
"During all my struggles and all my joys it is comforting to know that my God is with me always." May you be blessed by these lyrics as I have been.

Junior Police Academy (Cadet Luke)

This week Luke has had the opportunity to go to a cadet school
at the Juneau Police Dept. He has learned a lot and even
got to watch someone get tazed for 1 second.
One day it was making molds with shoe prints in the dirt
and fingerprinting themselves.
Yesterday was flares and today they got to
do some actual target shooting.
He has learned a lot and I am sure in the future you will be hearing
of a future Officer Luke Paden.
For the last day the parents were able to come for the
graduation ceremony and enjoy a BBQ afterwards.
It was a wonderful week for Luke.
So I'm very thankful to Officer VanSickle and
Officer Hatch and the Juneau Police Department for this wonderful program. Our good friend Officer Shawn Phelps, helping my children with their lunch.

Following "Big Brother Luke" to view the bomb rescue vehicle.

Have BaseBall.....

I Will Sleep.....
Since baseball season has started and the big boys have brought out the baseballs, I rarely see Matthias without a baseball in his hand. As you can see from the pictures he even sleeps with ONE. When bedtime comes I'll ask him where his baseball is and then when we find one I'll lay him down and won't hear a sound out of him. He loves Baseball too! I guess you could say he gets it from Joe and Luke.

Orion Update.....

Orion turned 4 months on June 4th. He rolled over on June 3rd, and got his first tooth on June 7th. He is growing so quickly. He is such a wonderful baby, calm and always full of smiles. God has blessed us with this little boy and I am so glad His plans are so much better for me than my own plans. What a JOY my children are to me.

Roof Progress.....

A lot has happened since my last post. Since my last post David has placed the flashing on the facia, put the metal up (with the help of Joe and Jon), and today he was bending the flashing for the end walls. We are almost done and I am so proud of the work David has accomplished. We wouldn't be this far without the help of everyone who has helped and prayed for us. Thank you everyone. And our God has truly blessed us with wonderful weather durning this roof project. Here are the pictures I have taken so far. The color of the metal is called "copper penny."
