First Snow!

I woke up this morning at 6:15am to Luke telling me " I love you Mom.  Did you know it is snowing?"  David and Luke went hunting this morning and what great timing for them.  Snow is always good for deer hunting because it brings the deer down the mountains a little more.

Everything was beautiful with the first dusting of snow.  It also brightened my spirits because it wasn't rain.  I love the freshness of the snow and the air is so crisp.  Justus wanted to go out and play, however their wasn't enough snow to play in and most of it is already melted out of the yard.  The snow is coming and I know eventually I will be saying "Will it ever go AWAY?"  But for today I will say " Thank you Lord for this refreshing day."

What are some things you like about the snow?

I love how it covers up the "blah" of my yard. I sure hope we get plenty of snow before Christmas when all our family will be here. It gives everything a nice fresh, clean look. Boy "fresh and clean" could describe so much about me. It's how I'd like all element of my house to be as well as my basic scrapbooking style. I think those are good words for me.

Luke went hunting yesterday too. I like how silent snow is when it falls. I use to love laying in the snow, watching it come down and listening to the silence. I'll have to teach Owen all about that!

I like how the snow transforms everything! But my favorite thing about snow is how it looks on the trees after it has just fallen and before all the wind blows it off.

I agree with Amanda...my favorite part of the snow and freezing rain in Juneau is how it looks on the trees. Since I grew up down South and we didn't have many trees in "cement city" I always said, "it looks like a CHristmas card!" Now I know that they made Christmas cards to look like beautiful places such as Juneau.
