Blessings from God

Matthias is 14 months old now. It is hard to believe that he is already walking and getting around without any help anymore. He still gets help from the older kids when he of course doesn't want their help. And one of his favorite spots is the snack drawer. Watching the bigger kids get food out he caught on pretty quickly where the good stuff is. Also he has discovered outside is so much more fun than being inside. When we open the front door he makes a bee line for the door and if he has something in his hand he tries (sometimes he is successful) to throw it outside. Maybe one day when we can trust him not to go in the drive way or the road we will let him retrieve his toy. He just gets mad when we of course do not let him play outside. What a silly little boy. But what a huge blessing from God.


Joe and Luke think it is great fun to do head stands against my living room wall. Now they have taught Justus to do the same. He has really enjoyed practicing and perfecting his skills. One day I was taking a nap and he decided he needed my pillow so he woke me up and asked if he could have my pillow so he could to a headstand. Needless to say my nap was shortened. Oh well they are only little once.
Sometimes it is hard for me to believe that they are only little once and I need to take a step back and enjoy all the times I do get to watch them grow. I am so blessed to have my five children. They are such good kids and I wouldn't trade them for quiet times and peaceful mornings. So when you look at all the dishes, messes, laundry piled up to your knees, remember that time passes so quickly and you may blink and they will be all grown.
